In recent years, laws restricting the use of hazardous substances have been becoming more strict in various
countries around the world.
Following the enforcement of the EU's RoHS Directive in July 2006, the Management Methods for the
Restriction of the Use of Hazardous Substance in Electrical and Electronic Products has been enforced in
China. This law makes it mandatory to label and disclose information on specified hazardous substances in
electrical and electronic products exported to China. DISCO’s precision processing equipment falls under the
purview of this law, so we have been shipping our equipment with the requirements satisfied.
In accordance with the requirements of the China RoHS, we will label precision processing equipment to indicate its environmentally-friendly use period.*1
We will also provide information to customers (the equipment users) on whether the parts that comprise the equipment contain any specified hazardous substances.
*1Environmentally-friendly use period for electronic information products refers to the period during which toxic and harmful substances or elements contained in electronic information products will not leak or mutate. The electronic information products will not cause serious environmental pollution or serious damage to human health or property while the products are being used by the consumer.
