DDISCO HI-TEC TAIWAN CO., LTD. (DHT), the Taiwan office of DISCO Corporation (Headquarters: Ota-ku, Tokyo; President: Kazuma Sekiya), a semiconductor manufacturing equipment manufacturer, was certified as a top 10 company in “Best Workplaces in Taiwan™ 2020,” produced by Great Place to Work® Greater China (GPTW Greater China)*. This was the first “Best Workplaces” survey conducted by GPTW in Taiwan.

GPTW defines a great place to work as a place where employees “trust the people they work for,” “feel pride for what they do,” and “enjoy the people with whom they work.” In this survey, GPTW investigates the company’s culture, environment, and employee opinions against the five dimensions of a Great Place to Work—“credibility,” “respect,” “fairness,” “pride,” and “camaraderie”—and then evaluates the company holistically.

In order to improve job satisfaction, DHT has held monthly town meetings at all offices in Taiwan since 2016 as an opportunity for upper management to convey their thoughts to employees directly. Moreover, DHT has focused on improving the quality of relationships among employees by implementing a system for employees to praise one another for work results or efforts and by encouraging employees to communicate not only via email or apps but also face-to-face. These efforts led to a “Great Place to Work” for employees at DHT.

In addition, DISCO headquarters has participated in this survey since 2009 and placed No. 2 within the large corporation division in the 2020 rankings. DHT is the first overseas affiliate office to participate in this survey. In the future, other affiliate offices will also work toward improving employee satisfaction, starting with participation in this survey.
