Final Rep. Overseas Delivery Normalized

Freight reception of airline carriers and forwarders (air transportation companies) at Kansai International Airport has resumed. Therefore, shipments of precision processing equipment, precision processing tools, and equipment parts by air cargo from Kansai International Airport will be resumed starting on Wednesday, October 10.
As a result, all overseas shipments will be normalized.

This announcement will provide information on the current overseas shipment situation as of September 11, 2018.

Shipments from Plant as of Tuesday, September 11

Shipments of precision processing equipment by air are no longer delayed as a result of changes to DISCO customs after reviewing the transportation routes to Narita Airport. As in the last announcement, there are no delays for shipments by sea.
Following partial recovery at Kansai Airport, precision processing tools and equipment parts shipped by courier service are no longer delayed.

As stated in the initial announcement on September 4, delays are expected for some overseas shipments (precision processing equipment and tools) from Kansai Airport due to the effects of Typhoon Jebi.
This announcement will provide information on the current overseas shipment situation.

Shipments from Plant on Monday, September 3

The status of precision processing equipment and tools currently awaiting shipment at Kansai Airport (air cargo) is currently being determined and adjustments are being made on a case-by-case basis.
Precision processing equipment shipped by sea from Kobe Port and precision processing tools shipped by courier service from Kansai airport are in transit as usual.

Shipments from Plant on Tuesday, September 4

Shipments of products by air that were intended to be transported to Kansai Airport are being transferred to Narita Airport. Shipments are expected to be delayed a maximum of two days.

Moreover, DISCO’s Kure plant and Kuwabata plant are operating as usual, and there are no product manufacturing or shipping delays. Domestic shipments are proceeding as usual.

1st Rep. Confirming the Effects on Shipping

As of Tuesday afternoon, September 4, Kansai Airport cannot be used due to the effects of Typhoon Jebi. As a result, some overseas shipments may be delayed.

Detailed information will be posted on DISCO’s website as soon as it is confirmed.

The Osaka branch office will resume normal operation as of Wednesday, September 5.
