Companywide Quality Policy

The Quality Policy is a part of DISCO VALUES – an ethos applied throughout the organization – and is the overarching principle of the Quality Management System.

By achieving excellence in all of our corporate activities, our existence will be welcomed by our stakeholders and society.

The Quality Policy has the purpose of raising every aspect of DISCO’s corporate activities to the appropriate level, as a corporation that provides technology and services that become the international standard. The policy incorporates the satisfaction of the applicable requirements and the continual improvement of the quality management system.
Our aim as a result of this policy is to be welcomed by society and our stakeholders as a good corporate citizen and business partner.

Making the DISCO Quality Policy a Reality

To make the DISCO Quality Policy a reality, DISCO has created a Quality Management System based on ISO 9001 that continuously measures progress in quality management goals while seeking to raise quality levels overall. Both departments directly and indirectly responsible for product and service quality are part of this system. Indirectly responsible departments seek to raise the quality of their output to the highest level, thereby allowing departments directly responsible to offer even higher quality to the customer. In addition, the same Quality Policy is in force at DISCO Group companies overseas, who also receive ISO 9001 certification and engage in continuous quality improvement.

Commitment to Excellence with DISCO’s Global Quality Management System

At DISCO, our Global Quality Management System (GQMS) is the cornerstone of our commitment to excellence, ensuring that our products and services meet the highest standards worldwide. The Global Quality Director oversees the establishment, implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of this system, which interconnects all affiliates within the DISCO Group. Our GQMS is designed to harmonize quality assurance processes across all regions, fostering a unified approach to quality that enhances consistency, reliability and customer satisfaction.

Our Quality Assurance Specialists (QAS) at each overseas affiliate play a crucial role in this system. They are responsible for implementing the global quality policies and activities tailored to their local contexts. This collaborative effort ensures that our global standards are met locally, allowing us to address unique regional requirements while achieving overall coherence. Through the Global Quality Director, we maintain open lines of communication between management and our QAS to facilitate this process. By continuously monitoring and evaluating our quality assurance practices, we identify and resolve any implementation challenges, ensuring our GQMS evolves with the changing needs of our customers and the market.

Quality Management System Compliant with Automotive Industry Requirements

DISCO has established a quality management system compliant with IATF 16949 for the main product types of its precision processing tools (dicing blades, grinding wheels and dry polishing wheels). By achieving even stricter quality control, we will continue to provide customers with high-quality products.

Note: Because DISCO is not an automotive part manufacturer or automotive part material manufacturer and cannot obtain IATF 16949 certification, it has applied the IATF 16949 requirements to its quality management system, which is certified under ISO 9001.

Partnership with IRCA (International Register of Certificated Auditors)

IRCA

In July 2017, DISCO and IRCA* (International Register of Certificated Auditors) entered a partnership for auditor evaluation registration. Upon beginning this partnership, IRCA recognized the effectiveness of DISCO's quality internal audits.
Through this partnership, DISCO will receive IRCA international standards education and human resource development support while training internal quality auditors who have global perspective. As a result, we can improve the reliability of DISCO's quality management system, which will make it possible to offer higher level products and services.
